One of the most discussed and debated subject in the current management literature is the concept of change and how to manage change. We hear management pundits asserting, “Change is the only constant” and the effective management of change will be one of the primary success factors of the future.
However, most of the current discussions on change are focused on developing the organisational skills and capabilities for coping with change. But the deeper questions on change like the meaning and purpose of change remain unanswered in the modern management thinking on the subject. This issue, while discussing some of the emerging concepts and strategies of change management, examines also these deeper questions on the meaning of change in a more holistic perspective.
